| Behind me on this picture is the famous Atomium in Brussels, Belgium.
The construction of the Atomium was ready in 1958 and the total height
is 102 meters.
Each ball has a diameter from 18 meters and a weight of
2400 tons.
The distance between each ball is 29 meters and they are connected
with metal
pipes from 23 meters long and a diameter from more then 3
meters.
You can say what you like about this building but they had the balls
to do it.
Brussels is also exiting at night with the many traditional beer
cafes and pubs. I did have a great time at " Het Spinnekopke" at the bloemenhofplein
in Brussels
where the beer is cold and the glasses big.
The red light districts are more spread out then in other European
cities but instead Brussels does have 3 of those. I have been to one of those places and the pleasure girls keep saying
"voulez vous coucher avec moi" to me.......but unfortunately i don't
speak a single word french.
Other must see places in Belgium are Antwerp, Bruges and the
Ardennes.
Cheers,
Snowman. |
