Sweden, land of the Vikings and beautiful blondes is
a Scandinavian with a rich history and culture. The Viking age was 800
to 1050 AD and most of the stories about the Viking age where written by
monks as they could write. The stories about the Viking history are not always as
violent as some might believe but fact is that the same monks where
robbed of their gold by the Viking raiders.
Fact is also that the Vikings where the first who
discovered America but because of the many Indians tribes who where seeing them as
intruders many of the Vikings lost their lives in battle. Still I believe that some may have survived the battle
as the Minnesota Vikings are one of the popular National Football League
teams in the USA. And seeing some of the sexy cheerleaders pictures on
the NFL Vikings website with long blond hair then this might be true.
Also there is a Viking brewing company
who have chosen the name in honor of the owners Scandinavian heritage. I discovered that not only in the USA but also in Sweden
itself they have Viking beer and they come in big cold glasses or in a 5
Liter barrel which can be placed on the table. Except barrels of cold beer and sexy blond girls with
long hair Stockholm has also some interesting places to visit. I
personally recommend the Drottningholm Slottsteater, which is an
impressive 18th century theatre and part of the royal domain, an UNESCO
World Heritage Site. The Kungliga Slottet which is the palatial
residence of the Swedish Royal family.
Skansen is the open air museum of the traditional
Swedish life, its also the oldest museum of it's kind in Europe. In the
town Uppsala you can find the biggest cathedral in Scandinavia and its
only one hour by car from Stockholm.
Also you should visit the Vasa Museum where you can find a well
preserved 17th century warship called "De Vasa" which is actually the only 17th century
warship worldwide left. Also Vaxholm which is an idyllic touristy town with a old castle just one
hour from the city of Stockholm.
