| New Zealand was one of the trips that goes in my history
book as most active vacations because the things i have seen there are
just amazing to describe.
Still i will try to give you as the reader of
this site an impression of it.
As you may have noticed also from the other pages i am a boat lover
even i have to be careful with the water since that would cause a fatal
meltdown. Wow, these Australian police boats are going fast like
lightning over the water with the big powerful engines they have. I
think it's also the only way to control their borders because of the
capable speed.
Wellington was my first city to see in Australia, and i visited the
karori wildlife sanctuary and of course the famous Wellington zoo. Other
places the visit are the St. James Theatre & Opera House, the Wellington
City art gallery, downstage theatre, Wellington cable car museum and Te
Papa Museum.
From Wellington i did travel to Auckland by camper and this is
probably the best way to explore New Zealand because then you don't miss
the pure nature that you will find on your way. Once in Auckland i did
visit the Tamaki Paenga Hira, a Maori museum that shows perfectly the
culture and history of New Zealand's early days. Also the Maori
woodcarving treasures (taonga) can be seen there.
Of course i did also participate in the Manaia Cultural Performance,
presenting a narrative song and dance of the Ngati Whatua O Orakei,
which is the home tribe of the Auckland area. Among Maori tribe members drinking is also a part of their social live and more
then 80 percent of the woman and men are drinking beer or other alcoholic drinks.
Seeing my dancing performance and the way i consume beer i could have
Maori blood in my veins also but comparing their brown and my white skin
i think more related to a drinking Eskimo which can dance.
Cheers,
Snowman. |
